A challenge - Coffee Salsa

My fellow salsa cohort challenged me to make a salsa featuring either coffee or chocolate; I chose coffee, deciding that a chile based salsa would be a good idea.

The elements I combined were coffee (the liquid variety), chiles (chipotle, puya, guajillo), water, mexican oregano, roasted garlic and onion, orange juice, palm sugar, salt, cumin, and a bit of vinegar.

The results was tasty but not out-of-this-world. The coffee could have been more prominent (even-though I used alot). And I think that a smokier theme would also be nice. That being said, it was a fun experiment.

For starters, let's be clear. This is not the sort of salsa comprised of smooth moves to impress the opposite sex on the dance floor and bring glory and fame; this is the salsa that burns off your taste buds.

A salsa master knows how to make various types of salsas.
A salsa master is very familiar with the ingredients at his disposal.
A salsa master is in touch with the authentic aspects of salsahood, namely Mexican culinary arts.
